Is clipping a birds wings the same as declawing a cat?

Just need some info on why some people clips the wings. I do not agree to declawing a cat or docking a dogs tail, so maybe this is also those inhumane things that people do to their pet.

No, not at all, declawing a cat is surgery and is permanent .. the cat gets put to sleep for the surgery.

when you clip a birds wings they will regrow, and it does not hurt them at all (well maybe their pride since they cannot fly), clipping wings only hurts the bird if you clip them too short and they bleed.

my 2 cockatiels i clip their wings only in summer, for their own safety (we have ceiling fans that get used in summer) in winter i let them have their flight as they won't hurt themselves.

The bird wonÂ’t enjoy walking around on long nails and it will be uncomfortable for the owners arm skin if the bird decides to perch there. Be sure not to wait too long before clipping so that the quick doesnÂ’t get any longer. DonÂ’t cut the quick or just as in dogs there will be a lot of pain and bleeding.
