Why do people even buy pet beds espicially expensive ones?

All of my pets (2 cats, 1 dog and 3 rats) all like old clothes or cloth. Cats and dogs like boxes with old clothes or pants in it a lot even if its to small for them. So why do people buy pet beds?

My dogs usually just sleep on my bed, but I have dog beds and crates around the house if they want to sleep in them.

In a pinch, a towel on the floor will do, but my dogs do not consider bare floor to be an adequate sleeping surface.

How are the Kuranda dog beds?

I've noticed some shelters around my area and the rescue group I work with have a link to kuranda dog beds if people want to donate to them. Are these beds really good for the dogs? What makes them better than others?

I always thought people bought Kuranda beds (or the knock off versions...) because they're easy to clean and it's unlikely a dog would chew it thus being a good product for shelters/ dog boarding centers.

What size collar and bed for lab puppy do I need?

Hi there.

I would advise popping into a pet shop with the puppy on your way home so that you can make sure you get a collar that fits her (if you go to pets at home you can get the tag engraved at the same time).

The puppy will either outgrow or destroy her small bed very quickly so I would advise going into Wilkinsons and getting one of their pet beds. They have a variety of styles and are good quality, but do not cost much. There doesn't seem much point in spending loads of money on something temporary.

When it comes to beds and you are trying to figure out which mattress dimensions are best for you, there are a few factors to consider. How many people will be sleeping in it, how tall are you, and how much room do you have in your bedroom to fit a bed in comfortably? Finally, the granddaddy of all mattresses is the Grand King which is a whopping 80x98 in dimension. Now remember once you have chosen your mattress dimensions you are going to have to be very observant when you buy sheets for that bed. If you buy standard twin sheets and try to put them on a twin XL, common sense will tell you that you are going to come up about 5 inches shy of making your bed.

How do I make a donut pet bed?

I'm looking for a simple sewing pattern or a general idea on what pieces to cut.

just take newpaper to use for a pattern. cut an oval the size you want the bottom to be. cut 2 pieces for top and bottom and put cotton batting in between. sew around edge of all layers. measure around outer edge of sewn oval. that number + 4" and about 8-12" wide depending on how big you want the donut ring. sew wrong side of length together leaving one edge longer than the other. stuf with fiber fill to desired firmness. for joining, sew short edge of long tube to seam to bottom oval over same seam. then fold and tuck long edge over sewn seams and finish by hand. you will have to finish the joining of the 2 tube ends by hand also. make sure you have a good heavy duty sewing machine and use carpet thread and needle. good luck.

Foam Pet Bed
My goat is foaming at the mouth and grinding her teeth. Whats wrong?!?

My pet goat lives in the barn. She has plenty of water, food, and straw to bed in but I was feeding her when I noticed that she was foaming at the mouth and gridning her teeth. She is shaking her head as if something hurts. Is it rabies? My barn is enclosed, the only creature that could've bitten her is one of my cats...Help!
I have given her some mineral oil and changed her feed back to the old stuff, and she has gotten better. The foam had stopped and only a little grinding which stopped aswell after a week. If any of your goats are doing this, it is definately constipation and mineral oil, prunes, hay and FRESH water will help it in a few days. It is not rabies, fourtunately. Thanks everyone! =]
