What is best a crate or pet bed for my chihuahua?

I just adopted a 2 month old chi and I am unsure of where she should sleep?
btw can you explain "crate training" in layman's terms?

that all depends on if you want to crate train or not.

i personally found that with my small dog crate training was quite helpful and he has come to love the crate.

i suggest starting with a small crate. they need enough room to turn and stand comfortably but that is it. anymore and they will use it for a toilet. as they get older and house trained better, you can transition from their crate to the dog bed. of course, that is when they won't chew stuff while you can't be watching them.

In the living room it can even be uses as an extra end table or shelf. At night you can move the crate into your bedroom so you can hear if they have to go out during the night. If you are worried about it being an eyesore don't worry because they are available in materials and styles to look more like furniture. Guests won't even know that new wood end table is really a dog crate. Make your dog and yourself happy with one in your home.
