It is 2:45 am and my neighbors dog has been tied up outside in the rain for several hours. What should I do?
My neighbor leaves her dog tied up on her porch (which is not adequate shelter from the rain) for several hours almost every night. I do not see that food and water have been provided. The dog barks occasionally and it so sad to see it outside in the rain. I am not sure how to handle this situation.
What you can do,besides call animal control and then have you neighbor hate you,is to go to garage sales and find a nice,used doghouse for a couple of bucks,and give it to your neighbor to put on her porch.Tell her that you just happened to see the house and thought of her dog and so you bought it as a gift.She shouldn't take offense,and the dog will have shelter.Oh,and if the dog is friendly,you can offer to check to see if he has water and food while she is gone.This is especially important with the hot summer weather coming. If the dog or the neighbor aren't friendly,though,then you just need to call animal control.
