Gerbil Pet Insurance?
Now you can get dog and cot pet insurance, but can you get gerbil pet insurance? I have two female gerbils.
I have money for them should they need to go to the vet, but I'd rather not have that shock.
So is it possible to get pet insurance for a gerbil? (supermarkets don't do it, just cat and dog).
My gerbils are not ill or anything, they are healthy with plenty to amuse themselves (chew toys, safe wood, mineral stones/licks) and I interact with them. I'd just like to know if it is possible to get insurance for them?
Yeah, I know, it sounds daft to some people! :p
I wouldn't have thought that this was possible. Most companies wouldn't do small animal insurance as the premiums would be higher than just taking it to the vet off your own back. It's lovely that you care enough about them to think about it though. Doesn't sound daft at all!
What I would do is just save a little bit of money each month/week and keep it in a separate account from your usual spending account. That way, should the worst happen and they need emergency treatment or have to go to the vets, then you have some money stockpiled for that exact purpose.
