is putting a flea collar in your vacuum bag dangerous?

I have seen many people say to put a flea collar in your vacuum bag, it is supposed to kill and larvae, and fleas that are in the bag, but some other sites say it is dangerous, as it can release harmful chemicals into the air as you vacuum, so is it safe, or should I add salt to the bag instead?

It's best to use a piece of flea collar, vacuum thoroughly, and then get rid of the bag. I don't know if putting salt in the bag would kill the fleas. Vacuum cleaner bags are pretty cheap, so tossing them is better than taking chances.
