persian cat 8 months old new home?
hi i need advice on how to adjust my moms 8 month old persian cat to my home with 5 small dogs and 2 other cats this cat has never been around other animals i don,t want to tramatize her so right now i have her in a large crate with litter food and water other cats can approach from outside cage have not done dogs yet would like any hwelp anyone can give thanks
She is still young enough to learn, so that is good!
Get her used to the smell of the dogs by having them sleep on a blanket then introducing that to her area. Do the same for the dogs and her, so they don't smell her as "different".
When you introduce her to the dogs, make sure you do it as "she is a top dog"...so hold her when you introducing them, make sure you feed her and treat her first in front of them.
Take time over it - that is the main thing. Make sure she has somewhere safe to retreat to.
Knowing the personality of most persians she will be controlling your dogs in no time
